FAQ:
 Q. Can I keep my hard drive?
A. Yes. We are able to repair and test your laptop without your hard drive, so feel free to keep it or leave it in the machine, the choice is yours.

Q. Will this repair work on my laptop?
A. Yes, we repair the jack on all laptops for the flat rate of $145 which includes parts on most laptops. Some laptops might have an additional charge due to the high cost of the power jack harness.

Q. What if you can't fix it?
A. On rare (2%) occasions, part of the motherboard is broken that the jack attaches to or the motherboard is burned/shorted out by the power jack. When the unit is opened and we note this, we do not do the repair. We will give you some options, including bringing the laptop back, a quote on a replacement motherboard and other options. If you decide not to complete the repair a $85.00 diagnosis fee will apply.

Q. How long does it take?
A. Turnaround time for DC power jack repair is about 48 hours. We stock 95% of the jacks to keep turnaround fast. (some rare jacks will have to be ordered which might delay turnaround time). The actual repair and testing takes around 4 hours. Many manufacturers want 8 - 12 weeks!

Q. Will it ever break again? 
A. We do this repair daily and the laptop technicians performing the repair are very good at it, however, we can not redesign your laptop. Some jacks mount in to your laptop's motherboard by as few as three tiny pins.  Most laptops never return for service a second time, but note that on many models one good jerk will break the jack free again.

Q. Do you need my AC adapter?
A. Yes, to test out your system we would prefer to have your AC power adapter, however if you are missing an AC DC adapter we still can work on it and test out your computer using our adapters.  In addition if your Power plug on your AC adapter is damaged or broken or shortens we can order you a new one for a small fee.
